On June 21, the Star Party and Star Club 2024 Star Visit (Shanghai Station) successfully concluded at 485 Meta Galaxy.

At the opening ceremony, Guangzhou Design Week CEO and Star Club Council Chairman He Wenguang reviewed the past nine years of Design Star's history and influence, noting that the program is currently in an "unfinished" state and that the future holds even greater potential. He emphasized the crucial importance of Design Star, a dedicated platform for young designers to forge their own future, for the future of Chinese design. He comprehensively elaborated on the operational scope of Design Star (2024-2025), focusing on topics such as "What changes will Design Star see in its tenth year?", "Where will young designers find their next decade?", and "What will be the next direction for the design industry's first reality show?"

Afterwards, Mr. Chen Qinxian, General Manager of NEWZHONGYUAN Ceramics Marketing and Chairman of the Star Club Council, talked about the original intention of Design Star and the summary of its ninth year. He also emphasized that product development and upgrading should empower designers’ works rather than be a burden.

At the same time, we encourage more outstanding designers to join the Design Star family. In 2024, we will connect more "star" forces through the Star Club. We look forward to the development of a "star ecosystem" around design in the future. Through the power of the "Star Club" community, it will become the foundation and powerful support for the future of Chinese design. This also foreshadows the Design Star's 10th anniversary celebration this year.

New Product Release

Mr. Liu Huashen, General Manager of NEWZHONGYUAN Ceramic Design and Installation Management CenterThe event also brought us the new product launch of NEWZHONGYUAN Ceramics, and announced the upcoming new series of ceramic products. At the same time, it was pointed out that NEWZHONGYUAN Ceramics will reshape its brand from two major directions: space R&D co-creation and product application co-creation, and become a tile/rock plate aesthetic library for designers.We work together with Design Star to create dry-transformed commercial spaces, and provide boutique hotels, homestays, tea houses, bars, beverages, offices and other business formats with a one-stop supply chain procurement platform and customized products for tile categories, enabling personalized project delivery.

Star Visit | Welcoming the New "Stars"

Mr. Huang Di, Founder/Design Director of Pingjie Design, and Mr. Yan Xiaojian, Chief Designer of Shanghai Jiyan Design Studio, both of whom were among the top 12 Design Stars (2022-2023) national finalists, shared their transformation and growth before and after participating in the Design Stars competition. They noted the unique nature of the Design Stars competition, not only forging deep friendships with the contestants and making like-minded designer friends, but also providing a process for gradually clarifying their future direction. They lamented that Design Stars, with "growth" as its key word, has changed the life trajectories of countless designers, and this continues to happen.

The members of the Star Club discussed topics such as "the entrepreneurial process and the future development of young designers" and showed the current status of young designers through questions and answers.Through this kind of communication and interaction, every participant can have a deeper understanding of each other's growth process, learn valuable experience, and promote the development of themselves, the entire Design Star community, and even the young designer community.

We jointly conducted a dialogue on the hottest topics among young designers today.Afterwards, Mr. Zhang Yaotian, the founder of Yuhe Guangnian FUNCONNECTION, served as the tour guide and led the stars present.Visit 485 Meta Galaxy and explore the design story of the studio.

Designers walk the creative path alone, but they also rely on the support of their peers. This 300-square-meter co-working space brings together more than 10 designers from across China. It serves as a gathering point in Shanghai and a place for spiritual exchange among colleagues.

After a joint visit to 485 Meta Galaxy and a discussion on a hot topic among young designers, a unique Star Party dinner was held with a buffet. This maximized the socializing and created a joyful feast for the stars to connect with each other, bringing the first Star Party of 2024 to a successful conclusion!
